Girl group rookie made by SM Entertainment, Aespa, again achieved a proud achievement. This time Aespa’s song “Next Level” won the award Song of the Year in the event Korean Music Awards (2022). Not only one award, Aespa also won a trophy Best K-Pop Songs and Rookie of the Year in this event.
Korean Music Awards itself is an annual music awards event to appreciate singers and musicians from various musical genres. First held in 2004, this event is one of the most prestigious in the South Korean music scene.
Not only Aespa’s “Next Level”, here is a list of K-Pop songs that have won awards Song of the Year in the event Korean Music Awards in the last ten years. The songs are all hits, you know!
1. At the 2013 Korean Music Awards, there was a song that went viral all over the world, PSY’s “Gangnam Style” which won the Song of the Year trophy
2. Korean senior singer who debuted in 1968, Cho Yong Pil won Song of the Year at the 2014 Korean Music Awards with the song “Bounce”
3. At the 12th Korean Music Awards, it was singer So You & Junggigo’s turn to win Song Of The Years through a duet song entitled “Some”
4. Not to be missed, there is the popular group Big Bang who won the Song of the Year trophy at the 2016 Korean Music Awards through the song “Bae Bae”
5. Through the song “Galaxy”, the group Bolbbalgan4 won the Song of the Year trophy at the 2017 Korean Music Awards.
