Ukraine War Kills Thousands of Soldiers, Destroys $100 Billion Of Infrastructure

TRIBUNNEWS.COM – The Russian Aerospace Forces shot down one Ukrainian Mil Mi-14 helicopter and three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones, including the Bayraktar drone, in one day, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

“Within one day, Russian Air Force aircraft and air defense systems shot down one Mi-24 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force and three unmanned aerial vehicles, including one Bayraktar TB-2,” Konashenkov said at a press conference on Saturday.

Furthermore, Russian tactical and military aviation and UAVs destroyed 79 items of Ukrainian military infrastructure, he said.

“They include four command points and signal stations, two anti-aircraft missile systems, three multiple launch rocket systems, one electronic warfare station, six ammunition and fuel depots, and 54 locations where military hardware is concentrated,” Konashenkov said.

According to Konashenkov, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed 1,159 tanks and other armored vehicles in Ukraine during the special operation.

“Overall, 3,593 items of Ukrainian military infrastructure have been rendered inoperable during the operation. Sixty-one helicopters, 126 unmanned aerial vehicles, 1,159 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 118 multiple launch rocket systems, 436 field artillery and mortar guns, and 973 special military vehicles have been destroyed, he said.

Meanwhile, troops of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) have reached the outskirts of Sievierodonetsk, Konashenkov said.

Sievierodonetsk is a city of more than 100,000 people in eastern Ukraine and one of the administrative centers of the Luhansk region.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Saturday 1,300 Ukrainian soldiers have died since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, The Kyiv Independent reported.

It is the first time the Ukrainian government has released estimates of Ukrainian military casualties since the first day of the war, when Zelensky’s office said at least 30 members of the country’s armed forces were killed.
