The story of Ukrainian students in Odesa preparing Molotov cocktails to face Russian soldiers

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, KIEV – Bogdan Galayda (22), a student of Ukrainian history prepares to fight against the Russian army.

In the past week or so, he’s been making Molotov cocktails out of bottles and fuel for him to throw at Russian soldiers if they attack his beloved city.

“Every day we make more than a thousand bottles and if the enemy comes to my city, we will make more than that,” he told Sky News, Sunday (13/3/2022).

He also showed hundreds of Molotov cocktails that had been made and stored in his secret arsenal in the center of Odesa.

Bogdan is part of a defense force that is ready to fight against the Russian military.

Many ordinary men and women were ready to fight to defend their city like Bogdan.

Then, a few miles away at a community center, women were cutting cloth and tying it by hand to a net.

They made camouflage so that Odesa’s defenses could be hidden.

Olha Poliuha, a 22-year-old English teacher, has volunteered with her mother.

“This is very important and we are working around the clock to make more. We will not stop and we will not give up,” said Poliuha.
