Former US President Barack Obama Tests Positive for Covid-19, Calls His Throat Itchy For Days

TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Former United States President Barack Obama has announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

“I just tested positive for Covid-19,” he wrote on Twitter Monday (14/3/2022).

“I had an itchy throat for a few days, but I’m fine.”

“Michelle and I are grateful we’ve been vaccinated and got boosters.”

“Michelle’s test result was negative.”

“This is a reminder to get vaccinated immediately if you haven’t been vaccinated, even though cases are down now,” Obama wrote.

Reported NBC NewsCovid-19 cases triggered by the omicron variant have been declining in the US and other parts of the world.

However, experts say the virus is likely to remain.

Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other leading health experts have predicted that Covid-19 may become a seasonal virus, similar to influenza.

Meanwhile, US health officials said scientists were continuing to evaluate whether another booster shot was needed.
