TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Explosions were heard in Kyiv on Saturday (12/3/2022) yesterday, as Russian troops entered the Ukrainian capital.

Intense fighting took place in the northeast and east of Kyiv city.

Geolocated photos verified by CNN International, show extensive destruction in Makariv, which is about 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of Kyiv.

The current situation of the humanitarian corridor is not going well, as Ukrainian authorities report little potential for success in securing the evacuation of civilians from the worst-affected areas.

Russia has issued a warning that it could open fire on weapons shipments to Ukraine.

This policy could increase the risk of direct confrontation between Moscow and NATO countries.
