TRIBUNNEWS.COM – The British Ministry of Defense (MOD) says Russian forces have blockaded Ukraine’s Black Sea coast to cut off Kyiv’s international maritime trade.
“Russian naval forces have established a blockade deep in the Black Sea coast of Ukraine, effectively isolating Ukraine from international maritime trade,” the Defense Ministry tweeted on Sunday (13/3/2022). CNN.
According to the World Trade Organization, trade by sea accounts for more than 80 percent of the volume of world trade.
The UK MOD intelligence briefing also said Russian naval forces “continue to carry out missile strikes against targets throughout Ukraine”.

Moscow is also said to have carried out “one amphibious landing in the Sea of Azov and could carry out further similar operations in the coming weeks.”
An amphibious landing is a coordinated military strike of the land, sea, and air forces.
The Black Sea is actually also an important trade and transportation artery for Russia.
