VIVA – There was a surprise in the semifinals of the BWF World Tour Super 300 German Open 2022. The 2021 All England champion Lee Zii Jia had a tragic fate and was eliminated.
Competing at Westenergie Sporthalle, Zii Jia was crushed by Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn in two straight games, Saturday 12 March 2022.
From the first game, Zii Jia played under pressure. Kunlavut looks stunning, attack after attack is launched.
Zii Jia had time to return the points, but he was far behind. Kunlavut won in the first game 21-13.
The second game, Zii Jia tries to get up. He tried to reply, but got stuck again.
Kunlavut gets more violent. He did not leave room for Zii Jia to comeback. As a result, Kunlavut ended Zii Jia’s resistance and ensured a ticket to the final after winning 21-12.
