INDOSPORT.COM – The coach of English Premier League club Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, agrees with Manchester United coach Ralf Rangnick’s statement about Cristiano Ronaldo.

The coach of English Premier League club Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, admitted that he agreed with Manchester United coach Ralf Rangnick’s statement about Cristiano Ronaldo.

The two teams have just met in the Premier League continuation which was held at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday (07/03/22) and ended with Manchester City’s 4-1 victory.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed this match after suffering a hip injury in training and Manchester United performed poorly against the Citizens.

Without the Portuguese superstar, Ralf Rangnick’s team appeared with a 4-2-2-2 formation that relied on Paul Pogba, Anthony Elanga, Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho.

Jadon Sancho was able to equalize Manchester United, although his team then had to accept more goals conceded.

Besides the poor performance that Man United clearly showed, there were other questions that arose whether Cristiano Ronaldo fit into Ralf Rangnick’s scheme.

The former RB Leipzig coach uses modern passes and Cr7 is used to suppress the defense when deployed as a striker.

However, according to mirrors, Ralf Rangnick had said that Cristiano Ronaldo would be in his scheme when he took the job at Manchester United.

“It’s not just a back four and a goalkeeper, Manchester United have to defend as a unit in a system,” Rangnick said in December.

“It’s about taking the next step, which is the next step if you win the game.”
