VIVA – Deputy Chairperson of the Executive Board of the All-Indonesian Swimming Association (PB PRSI), Harlin Erlianto Rahardjo, said that the Indonesian Swimming National Team would hold a training camp in Bali for two weeks. It will start in late March to early April 2022.
PRSI has just finished holding a National Selection as well as a Time Trial as a reference to form the Indonesian Swimming National Team for the SEA Games Vietnam 2021. The time trial selection will be held for three days on March 10-12 2022 at the Gelora Bung Karno Aquatic Stadium, Jakarta.
Later, the parent of the Indonesian aquatic sports federation will select 16 or more swimmers to be flown to Vietnam. But, before that they will hold a training camp in Bali.
“There is a plan to have a training camp in Bali for about 1-2 weeks to do a swimming camp. Next April, we will do another time trial to determine which swimmer is in what number. Because apart from technique, the strategy must also be right to achieve maximum results,” said Harlin told reporters, Saturday 12 March 2022.
The head coach of the PRSI swimming team, Albert Sutanto, said the same thing. He added, while in Bali, Aflah Fadlan Prawira cs will not only practice but will also be included in a short distance swimming championship.
“We will hold a TC in Bali at the end of March until April 10 and return to Jakarta the next day. In the last two days, we have a short distance swimming competition that Michael Piper wants to participate in. It’s just a booster before heading to the last time trial on April 18 , said Albert.
“Until now the status (short-distance swimming championship) is still being asked of PB PRSI to be recommended as an official championship. So, it can be officially recognized if there is a national record. The championship is open from all over Indonesia,” he explained.
