VIVA – Bad news for Indonesia’s men’s singles, Jonathan Christie. The man who is familiarly called Jojo was tested positive for COVID-19 shortly after being eliminated from the second round of the German Open, Friday morning WIB, March 11, 2022.

“Indeed, in Germany, we are the Indonesian team because the first and second vaccines are Sinovac, so we have to undergo a PCR test every two days. The test is carried out in the morning and the results will be out in the afternoon,” said the men’s singles coach Irwansyah as reported by the PBSI official website.

In the second round of the German Open, Jojo had to admit the superiority of the representative of Thailand, Kunlavut Vitidsarn. He lost two straight games 20-22, 9-21 at Westenergie Sporthalle.

“In the second game Jojo said that his muscles were all stiff, especially in the thighs. At that time I was also a bit disappointed because he played below his level, different from the match against Li Shi Feng the day before, “said Irwansyah.

“I didn’t think about being positive for COVID-19 but maybe that’s a symptom, especially when Jojo was also in the second game, so he often took deep breaths like he was physically exhausted,” he said.

Anthony Ginting Negative COVID-19

After being tested positive, currently Jojo must undergo quarantine in a hotel room. His roommate, Anthony Ginting, was moved to another room.
