The European Football Federation (UEFA) and the South American Football Federation (CONMEBOL) have agreed to hold a duel between the two champions.
The match between Italy vs Argentina is a tangible manifestation of the cooperation that exists between UEFA and CONMEBOL.
The champions in two prestigious European and South American tournaments are known to have met each other in international matches since 1960.
The match between the Euro champions and the Copa America winners was known to be abolished in the UEFA and CONMEBOL calendars when they were merged in the Club World Cup in 2005 ago.
“By agreeing to this, UEFA and CONMEBOL declare their commitment to the development of football across geographies, as a bridge to unite people, countries, continents and cultures,” UEFA wrote in their official release.
The plan, the champion’s duel will be held in June 2022. However, until this writing is completed, the exact date of the duel between Italy vs Argentina is unknown.
