VIVA – The Central Board of the Indonesian Hockey Federation (PP FHI) is targeting a ticket to the 2022 Asian Hockey Cup. To that end, they are targeting the Indonesian Outdoor Hockey National Team to penetrate the top three in the Men’s AHF Cup 2022 (AHF Men’s Cup 2022).
In order to realize this target, the Central Board of the Indonesian Hockey Federation (PP FHI) has prepared the best possible team. Moreover, Indonesia is the host of this tournament.
This championship means a lot to PP FHI. The reason is, this is the first Asian hockey celebration in Indonesia as well as the first international team tournament to be held in the country during the pandemic.
“We are honored that Indonesia has been appointed to host the 2022 AHF Men’s Cup. This is an honor from the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) to PP FHI and must be carried out as well as possible,” said PP FHI General Chair, Major General TNI AD, Budi Sulistijono , in a press conference at Hotel Sultan, Thursday 10 March 2022.

The Secretary General of PP FHI, Yasser Arafat Suaidy, added that Indonesia not only wants to be successful in terms of implementation, but also in terms of achievement. He hopes that the Indonesian Outdoor Hockey National Team can fight as much as possible to realize this target.
“The goal of the Indonesian Outdoor Hockey National Team is to qualify for the Asian Cup. We are aiming for that because it will qualify for the Hockey World Cup. Therefore, we have to be the best three teams in the Men’s AHF Cup 2022 because they will automatically qualify for the Asian Cup. After qualifying for the Hockey Asian Cup will only qualify for the Hockey World Cup,” Yasser said.
