INDOSPORT.COM – The impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine which caused the war made the Haas Formula 1 (F1) team finally officially kick Nikita Mazepin.
This shocking news was announced directly by the Haas team and Formula 1 through their official social media accounts on Saturday (05/03/22) afternoon WIB.
In its official release, the Haas team said they had terminated Nikita Mazepin’s contract and their partnership with Uralkali, the chemical company owned by the Russian racer’s father, with immediate effect.
“The Haas F1 Team has chosen to terminate immediately its partnership with Uralkali, and the contract of driver Nikita Mazepin,” the team said in a statement.
“Like the rest of the Formula 1 community, the team is shocked and saddened by the invasion of Ukraine and wishes this conflict a speedy and peaceful end.” he explained.
It remains unclear who will replace Nikita Mazepin and race alongside Mick Schumacher this season, although news of who will replace him is rumored to be announced early next week.
Previously, the FIA had set a number of conditions for Nikita Mazepin if he wanted to continue appearing in Formula 1 this season.
