SELANGOR – Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo failed to give Indonesia the first point in the final Group A match of the 2022 Asian Team Badminton Championships against India. Competing at the Setya City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia, Friday (18/2/2022), the singles mainstay of the Red and White team lost to the world number 13 player, Lakhsya Sen, in two straight games 18-21, 25-27 in 46 minutes.

Both players played tight right from the start of the first game. They both appeared to be pressing with sharp balls that were fired until the score was equal to 5-5.

However, Chico was able to continue to lead after that. He managed to overwhelm his opponent, who is 32 ranks above him, overwhelmed with his combination of attacks and closed the first game interval with a score of 11-7.

After the break, the Jayapura-born player looked careless and made several mistakes. Sen was also used to cut the distance to 14-15.

In fact, after that Sen was able to reverse the situation to 17-15. This situation can occur because Chico’s game continues to decline due to his inaccurate shots.

Until the first game ended, Chico was unable to rise from the pressure given by the opponent. As a result, Sen secured the first half of the match with a score of 21-18.

Entering the second game, the fierce battle took place again. Chico again showed his skills and managed to lead 7-4 thanks to the hard smashes he threw at Sen.
