Finally a superhero film adaptation project Harbinger Valiant Comic has a pretty interesting update. The film that will now be produced by Paramount Pictures is reported to have pointed Wes Ball to direct the project.

Ball himself is known as the director for the trilogy Maze Runner. Ball directed the three films, starring Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Giancarlo Esposito. Ball will also soon direct a film adaptation of David Peterson’s graphic novel entitled Mouse Guard and the latest reboot of the franchise Planet of the Apes.

Adaptation Harbinger this script will be written by Andrew Lanham. Lanham is best known for co-writing the recently released Marvel Studios film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He also co-wrote the drama story Just Mercy released in 2019, starring Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx.

Harbinger

First published in 1992, Harbinger tells the story of a group of teenagers who band together to fight against fellow super beings who seek to use their powers for evil purposes. The film is rumored to be about the character Pete Stanchek, aka Sting, a powerful Harbinger who was originally a student of the villain Toyo Harada.

The Harbinger comic series is published by Valiant Comics and created by Jim Shooter and David Lapham, with Shooter writing and Lapham working on the comic strips. The comic series itself started in 1992 and lasted until 1995 and was rebooted with new writers and drawing artists in 2012 and lasted until 2014.

Before moving from Sony Pictures to Paramount, Sony plans to release Harbinger after Bloodshotand then crossover the two titles for a film called Harbinger Warsand we’ll see Vin Diesel join the teens at Harbinger. But unfortunately that plan is unlikely to materialize because Paramount is unlikely to be working with Sony to do a crossover with Bloodshot.
