The latest exciting and quality series from Disney + Hotstar

The Walt Disney Company today announced the latest content with various genres from South Korea that will soon appear on Disney+ Hotstar for customers in Asia Pacific this year.

Disney+ Hotstar customers will enjoy soon Big Moutha thriller series starring Lee Jong-suk and Lim Yoon-a; #1 soundtracka romantic musical drama about two best friends caught in a dilemma between friendship and love; Crazy Love, a comedy drama with a romantic story; and The Zone: Survival Missiona game show where celebrities are challenged to find their way out of the escape room.

This new line of content is part of Disney+ Hotstar’s list of Korean content in 2022, where there will be more than 20 new titles, including 12 Original content.

Today’s announcement also follows in the footsteps of the success of previous Disney+ Hotstar content that has aired in recent months such as Grid, Snowdrop, Rookie Cops, Outrun by Running Man and BLACKPINK THE MOVIE. Since its premiere in mid-December, Snowdrop has managed to become one of the top five most watched shows on Disney+ in most of the Asia Pacific region (including Disney+ Hotstar). Snowdrop also ranked second for the most watched series in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Rookie Copsa drama about self-discovery starring idols K-pop Kang Danielwas also well received in several countries, including South Korea and Indonesia.

Stories about Family, Survival and Revenge

Big Mouth

  • When a low-class lawyer is forced to tackle a murder case in an attempt to change his life, he becomes entangled in an intricate conspiracy that threatens his career and life. Starring Lee Jong-suk (Romance is a Bonus Book, W, Pinocchio) and Lim Yoon-a (Miracle, Exit, Hush), Big Mouth was written by Haram, in collaboration with Jang Young-chul and Jung Kyung-soon, and directed by Oh Choong-hwan (Hotel Del Luna, Start-Up, While You Were Sleeping).

  • A songwriter named Eunsoo invites his best friend to stay with him for two weeks to help him write a song lyric about unrequited love. Viewers will be captivated by the story of Eunsoo and Sunwoo who have to live a relationship full of dilemmas between friendship and love, while writing songs and figuring out what will happen to their friendship. Directed by Kim Hee-won (Vincenzo, The Crowned Clown, Money Flower), Soundtrack #1 also stars Han Sohee (My Name, Nevertheless, The World of Married) as Eunsoo–a songwriter who is still working on a career, and Park Hyungsik ( Happiness, Suits, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon) as Sunwoo–Eunsoo’s best friend.

The Zone: Survival Mission

  • The Zone: Survival Mission features Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, and Yuri of Girls’ Generation. The event takes guests into thematic virtual rooms and areas – where they are challenged to face the unexpected and survive the challenge to become winners. Produced by Cho Hyo Jin (Running Man, Family Outing, X-Man), The Zone: Survival Mission will be an exciting adventure for the audience and participants alike.

Crazy Love

  • When a genius CEO named Noh Go-Jin begins to receive death threats from an unknown person, he devises a plan to track down the mysterious figure. Before long, Lee Shin-a, his secretary who has just been diagnosed with a deadly disease, plans to take revenge for the bad treatment he received from the company he works for. Filled with surprises, this romantic comedy drama stars Kim Jae-wook (Her Private Life, Voice) as Noh Go-Jin and Krystal Jung (The Heirs, Prison Playbook, Player and Search) with a story written by Kim Bo-kyum ( DRAMA STAGE, Everything About My Rival).

Other content that has been announced to be coming to Disney+ Hotstar soon is moving, an action hero-thriller series based on the webtoon by Kang Full about three teenagers who explore their superpowers; as well as King of Savvystarring Choi Min-sik (Old Boy, The Admiral) – in his first TV appearance in 24 years –, Sohn Seok-gu, Lee Dong-hwi, as well as two Squid Game actors, Heo Sung-tae and Kim Joo- ryoung.

Various Content from Indonesia Coming Soon

Today’s announcement also brings a special surprise for the audience, especially in Indonesia, who will soon enjoy a series of Original Indonesian content that will be present in 2022.

This March, Disney+ Hotstar subscribers can watch the new series Wedding Agreement The Series based on the bestselling novel and film of the same name. This latest series will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.

It will be aired this year too. Risa’s Journal from Danur Horror Universe by Risa Saraswati, as well as The Series . Cemara Familya spin-off series of the 1996 TV show and 2019 feature film, both of which are already in production.

Bloody Blood Series The work of veteran director Kimo Stamboel has also completed the production stage and can be seen immediately on Disney+ Hotstar.

The content announced today is the latest broadcast and is The Walt Disney Company’s commitment to providing the best stories for customers, especially through local language content from across the Asia Pacific region.

Since it was first announced in October 2021 as part of APAC Content ShowcaseThe Walt Disney Company is committed to bringing more than 50 impressions APAC Originals on until 2023.

These new series, will be re-announced in stages, as it approaches its broadcast time.
