No matter which corner of the internet you visit this week, you’re more likely to see people talking about The Matrix Resurrections or Spider-Man: No Way Home – or both. So why fight the hype when you can join? This is what the marketing team behind has decided Sonic the Hedgehog 2 by paying a little respect to his return The Matrix to the cinema by presenting a teaser and poster (via account Twitter the film) which is flavorful The Matrix.
New teaser for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 it begins with the appearance of green codes on a black screen, in the tradition of the Matrix. However, instead of numbers, they feature rings that Sonic must collect in the video game which eventually leads to several scenes in the film.

Whereas the poster itself asks the cast whether they will take the red feather or the blue feather, a clear reminder to the red and blue pills that Neo had to choose in the film. The Matrix. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be released in theaters on April 8, 2022.
Based on one of the most famous video game characters ever, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is the sequel to the 2020 film which grossed over $300 million worldwide and was one of the last cinema releases before the coronavirus pandemic hit us. The sequel will see the superfast blue hedgehog come face to face with one of his most famous – and most beloved – enemies – the red echidna known as Knuckles.
Ben Schwartz will return as the voice of Sonic along with Jim Carrey as Robotnik. The film will also reprise James Marsden and Tika Sumpter as Tom and Maddie Wachowskis, and Lee Majdoub will return as Agent Stone. Other cast members in the film are Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Shemar Moore. Some time ago it was announced that Idris Elba will voice Knuckles the Echidna, confirming the involvement of one of the video game’s favorite characters in the film’s sequel.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 which will be distributed by Paramount Pictures directed by Jeff Fowler, who also directed the first Sonic film. Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington wrote the script for this sequel.
Plot synopsis for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 reads:
“After settling in Green Hills, Sonic was ready for more freedom, and Tom and Maddie agreed to leave him at home while they went on vacation. However, not long after they left, Dr. Robotnik is back, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search of the emerald that has the power to build and destroy civilization. Sonic then teams up with his best friend, Tails, and together they embark on an adventure and journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.”
