Check out the official synopsis of the film here:
“Two kids wanted to start a heavy metal band at a high school where two kids who cared about heavy metal attended school. Hunter (Adrian Greensmith) is an avid metal fan — who knows his history and can play the guitar with great skill. His dream in life is to win in the upcoming Battle of the Bands. He asks his best friend Kevin (Jaeden Martell) to play the drums. But with his schoolmates more interested in Justin Bieber than Black Sabbath, finding a bassist was a struggle. Until then Kevin accidentally hears Emily (Isis Hainsworth) playing the cello. This unique group must deal with problems at school, parents, hormones, and teenage anxiety until Skullf*cker (their band name) wins the Battle of the Bands.”
The film is directed by Peter Sollett (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) from a screenplay written by Weiss. The film will star Jaeden Martell (IT film, Knives Out), Isis Hainsworth (Emma), and newcomer Adrian Greensmith. Additional cast members from the film include Noah Urrea, Analesa Fisher, Michelle Fang, Phelan Davis, Brett Gelman, Sufe Bradshaw, and Joe Manganiello.
Metal Lords produced by Weiss and Greg Shapiro, with Benioff, Bernie Caulfield and Robin Fisichella as executive producers. Tom Morello, a member of metal bands Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, will serve as executive music producer for the film.
