Elvis Trailer Offers A Fresh Look at Austin Butler as King of Rock and Roll

A stylish new trailer for director Baz Lurhmann’s biographical musical drama about the rock and roll icon, Elvis Presleyby title Elvishas been released by party Warner Bros. This promo reveals the best performances of the stars Once Upon a Time in Hollywood …, Austin Butler who plays the megastar. Glamorously presented, and epic as one would expect from a story about Elvis, but with an ominous mystery behind it.

The trailer begins by showing a young Elvis at play and turns out to be a fan of Captain Marvel (Shazam). Gan then like many other young artists before him, Elvis was mocked by the audience before performing but things changed once his singing voice was heard. This Elvis trailer also suggests that one of the most controversial aspects of the singer’s performance will be addressed in the story of the film. Back in the 1950s, Elvis’ appearances were considered sexually provocative – he moved his pelvis too much – and they were directly linked to cultural change in the United States and around the world.

Apart from Austin Butler, Elvis also features Tom Hanks (Toy Story) as Presley’s manager – Colonel Tom Parker, Helen Thomson (Top of the Lake: China Girl) as Elvis’ mother – Gladys, Richard Roxburgh (Moulin Rouge!) as Elvis – Vernon’s father, Olivia DeJonge (The Visit) as Priscilla Presley, Luke Bracey (Hacksaw Ridge) as Jerry Schilling, Natasha Bassett (Hail, Caesar!) as Dixie Locke, David Wenham (Lion) as Hank Snow, Kelvin Harrison Jr. (The Trial of the Chicago 7) as BB King, Xavier Samuel (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) as Scotty Moore, and Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Power of the Dog) as Jimmie Rodgers Snow. To play another iconic musical artist in the film, Luhrmann features singer/songwriter Yola as Sister Rosetta Tharpe, model Alton Mason as Little Richard, Gary Clark Jr. as Arthur Crudup, and Shonka Dukureh as Willie Mae “Big Mama” Thornton.

Elvis

The film will explore the life and music of Elvis through his complicated relationship with his manager, Tom Parker. Parker discovers Presley when he is just an unknown and quickly steps in as his sole representative. Parker was responsible for various successes and Presley’s record contract with RCA and his successful acting career.

The story will also examine their dynamic dynamics over more than 20 years, starting from Presley’s rise to the pinnacle of fame against a backdrop of increasingly dynamic cultural developments. But at the heart of the journey was one of the most important and influential people in Elvis’ life, Priscilla Presley.

This biographical film is directed and produced by Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge!, Romeo + Juliet, The Great Gatsby) from a screenplay he co-wrote with Sam Bromell, Craig Pearce, and Jeremy Doner. Catherine Martin, Gail Berman, Patrick McCormick and Schuyler Weiss will also serve as producers.

Elvis it was originally supposed to be released on June 3, 2022, but later the film was pushed back to June 24, 2022.
