VIVA – The Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) held a Member Meeting for 2022. With the theme “Together Awakening Indonesian Sports”, this agenda was held in the Serpong area, South Tangerang, Tuesday 8 March 2022.
The event was opened by the Minister of National Development Planning/Chairman of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa. In his remarks, Suharso encouraged the Indonesian Olympic Committee to develop sports achievements with an industrial approach so that sport can become a career choice.
“If we want sport to progress, we have to take an industrial approach. Conventional methods must be abandoned. Just look at football in Europe and basketball in America. This encourages economic growth,” said Suharso in an official press statement received VIVA.
Suharso also appreciated the performance of the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Olympic Committee Raja Sapta Oktohari as the Chair of the WADA Sanctions Release Acceleration Team who successfully completed the task and freed Indonesia from WADA sanctions within 3.5 months.
Meanwhile, Okto invited all national sports federations of members of the Indonesian Olympic Committee to join hands and let go of sectoral egos to revive Indonesian sports.

“The 2022 Members’ Meeting carries the theme ‘Together Awakening Indonesian Sports’. I need to underline the word together because our sport will be difficult to rise if we work alone. We need to open our minds and hearts so that we can be more solid going forward,” said Okto.
