New Trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Introduces the Villain, Grand Inquisitor

As part of Disney Investor Day, a new teaser trailer for the series Obi-Wan Kenobi has been released. The much-awaited limited fun of Star Wars fans is coming back Ewan McGregor as the legendary Jedi Master since his last appearance in Star Wars: Episode III –Revenge of the Sith in 2005. Obi-Wan Kenobi will join the ranks of the original Star Wars program at Disney+ like The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Bad Batchand Star Wars: Visions. The series will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on May 25, 2022.

The new teaser trailer reveals all sorts of never-before-seen scenes and action. Unfortunately, fans are temporarily unable to see his return Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. But the teaser trailer reveals a first look at the Inquisitor, who are making their first live-action debut in the series. The first Inquisitor to be seen was their leader, the Grand Inquisitor. The character was introduced at the start of the first season of Star Wars Rebels, voiced by Jason Isaacs. Another Inquisitor who appeared was Fifth Brother. This character also appeared in Star Wars Rebels, but was eventually killed by Darth Maul himself. Then there is also an Inquisitor named Reva, who is believed to be the Third Sister.

In addition to McGregor and Christensen, Obi-Wan Kenobi marks the return of Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse who played Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. In the recently released issue of Entertainment Weekly, it was revealed that Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit) will play an Inquisitor named Reva who is tasked with tracking down and hunting down Obi-Wan Kenobi. The series will also star Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Rupert Friend (Homeland), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Godzilla: King of the Monsters), Sung Kang (Fast & Furious franchise), Simone Kessell (San Andreas), and Benny Safdie (Good Time).

The story in the series Obi-Wan Kenobi Set 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Kenobi faces his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend, Anakin Skywalker who turns into the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. Obi-Wan Kenobi seems to be having some surprises like The Mandalorian which brings back some of the old characters from the Star Wars movies.

The series script is being written by Joby Harold (Army of the Dead) with Deborah Chow (The Mandalorian) serving as director and executive producer along with Harold, McGregor, Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Tracey Seaward (The Queen) and John Swartz (Rogue). One: A Star Wars Story).

McGregor himself previously played Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones (2002), dan Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (2005). He also made a special cameo (voice) in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).
