David Dastmalchian who recently appeared in Dune direction of Denis Villeneuve and The Suicide Squad directed by James Gunn is now back involved in another big project. According to reports from The Hollywood Reporterhe will join the film projects Oppenheimer courtesy of Christopher Nolan.
Dastmalchian will be joined by Alden Ehrenreich, David Krumholtz and Kenneth Branagh. Other cast members in the project also include Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Mathew Modine, Dane DeHaan, and Jack Quaid.
The film will center on the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, one of the fathers of the atomic bomb who faced exile for being accused of being a communist. Oppenheimer adapted from the book by Pulitzer Prize winners Martin Sherwin and Kai Bird entitled “American Prometheus: The Triumph of J. Robert Oppenheimer”. With that being said, it seems unlikely the plot will feature too many surprises and plot twists, but reality does sometimes get weirder than fiction, and with Nolan anything is possible.
In this film, Cillian Murphy will play the figure of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who led the discovery of the atomic bomb. And this project marks the sixth collaboration between Murphy and Nolan, after the trilogy The Dark Knight, Inceptionand Dunkirk. Meanwhile, Emily Blunt will play his wife, Katherine Vissering.
Oppenheimer will be Nolan’s first film since Teneta film that, like Nolan’s other famous brainbusters, Inceptionmaking this film re-watched many times and like Inceptionleaving many viewers of the film confused but interested in what really happened in the film.
A glimpse of Robert Oppenheimer
Robert Oppenheimer was an American theoretical physicist and also a physics professor who became the head or head of the Los Alamos Laboratory during the second world war. He is among those credited as the “father of the atomic bomb” for their role in the Manhattan Project, which was a World War II effort to develop the first nuclear weapon. Oppenheimer is also famous for saying, “Now I am Death, destroyer of the world,” citing the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita after successfully detonating the first atomic bomb on July 16, 1945. The film itself is scheduled to be released on July 21, 2023.
