Flexitarian Diet

The word flexitarian is a combination of two words, namely flexible and vegetarian. The name was coined by registered dietitian Dawn Jackson Blatner, in her book entitled The Flexitarian Diet: The Mostly Vegetarian Way to Lose Weight, Be Healthier, Prevent Disease and Add Years to Your Life, in 2009 ago.

Furthermore, according to Blatner, dieters don’t have to eliminate meat to reap the health benefits associated with vegetarianism. A vegetarian can, really, still enjoy a burger or steak only when it’s tasted cravings it’s coming.

Thus, meat intake is not completely eliminated, but reduced so that these dieters not only lose weight but can improve their overall health, such as lowering rates of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

How the Flexitarian Diet Works

As stated above, a flexitarian diet does not eliminate meat protein completely. However, this diet adds non-meat proteins such as beans, peas or eggs; fruits and vegetables; grains; milk; and spices, into a plate.

For calorie fulfillment, you can use the 345 method, which is a 300-calorie breakfast, 400-calorie lunch, and 500-calorie dinner. You can also eat two snacks with 150 calories each. Make sure your calorie intake reaches 1,500 calories, yes, Beauties.
