7 Uncharted Film Reviews Starring Tom Holland According to Critics

PeekCeleb – Film critics’ reviews of Uncharted have been rather negative so far, with critics complaining that the film refuses to take the plunge or properly source its info.

The film is adapted from a video game based on following a treasure hunter named Nathan Drake as he travels around the world solving historical mysteries. Games Uncharteddeveloped by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation, was not only a commercial success but was also universally lauded for raising the bar for games in storytelling, animation, design, and many other gameplay elements.

Film Uncharted first entered development in 2008, a year after the first video game in the series was released. At the time, Mark Wahlberg was originally set to play Nathan Drake, but when he got older, Tom Holland was cast instead, with Wahlberg taking over as Victor Sullivan’s mentor. In the film, meant to be an origin story set before the game, Nathan and Victor must work together to find a fairy tale treasure before their enemies take over.

So far, Uncharted has received a critical rating of 42 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. While this score could of course be lower, video game fans expect a lot more from the beloved source material. Instead, Uncharted turned into a rather generic and lifeless project, with its only real saving grace being its cast, but even that has divided critics. Here’s what some reviewers have to say:

Screen Rant:

“Holland was fine in the role, but the problem is that the film doesn’t seem to understand who Nate Drake is as a person, even in its early days, and that drags on the story. The film could have been about anyone the way Nate was written.”
