TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Zendaya always puts on an extraordinary style on the red carp. The Euphoria star made a glamorous virtual appearance for the 2022 NAACP Image Awards, where she was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for her performance in Malcolm and Marie.

For the award, she sported a glamorous vintage style in a couture look reminiscent of the Motown girl group and legendary movie stars of the ’50s and ’60s.

In the clip shared by her longtime stylist Law Roach, the 25-year-old actress shows off her outfit, walking past a trophy display at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in LA. She wore a white tweed coat and a gray sequined mini dress, both from the Anatomy of Couture collection, which featured diamond trim. She completed her look with white pointed stilettos and hoop earrings, her hair was styled straight with a side parting and curled ends.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home star also shared a second look from the night on Instagram, taken with his own camera by photographer Dominic Miller. In the photo, the star poses in a vintage Balmain gown from 1956, with a green strapless bodice and a long, fluffy red skirt. She had her hair pulled back, with silver jewelery and classic winged eyeliner to complete the look.

Since becoming the face of Valentino in December 2020, Zendaya has collaborated with the Italian fashion house on several red carpet looks. She and Law Roach looked back at the fashion house’s old collection for the premiere of Euphoria season 2 and finally chose a column dress from Valentino’s 1992 spring/summer collection on the red carpet. The dress featured bold black and white vertical stripes, and a curvy neckline. She simply added a pair of earrings to make the vintage skirt the center of attention.

Roach also dressed the star in a Valentino Haute Couture costume for the premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home in Los Angeles last year. The sleek look fits the theme, with the nude backless dress featuring a low V-neck cut, slits at the legs, and black cobweb embroidery all over. Zendaya styled her long straight hair in cornrows and wore a special black fur mask.

When their partnership was announced, creative director Valentino Pierpaolo Piccioli said he considered the actress a natural representative of his contemporary concept of romanticism.

“The reason why we chose Zendaya as the new face for Valentino is because he perfectly embodies and represents what and what Valentino stands for, right now. She is a strong and fierce young woman who uses her talent and work to express herself, her values and her generation as well,” the designer said in a statement.
