TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the main task of his delegation in talks with Russian representatives was to arrange a meeting between himself and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Representatives of our country hold talks every day via video conference,” Zelensky said.

He described the task of the Ukrainian delegation in a difficult way.

Zelensky also said the humanitarian convoy to Mariupol was blocked by Russia, disrupting the movement of aid and buses.

He added that the convoy of refugees would make another attempt to move on Monday (14/3/2022).

Quoted from the Times of Israel, Zelensky also suggested on Saturday (12/3/2022), negotiations between Ukraine and Russia to end the war could be held in Jerusalem.

He believes Israel can provide security guarantees for his country.

He also hoped that the Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, would have a positive influence in the negotiations.

Zelensky spoke at a special briefing for journalists from Kyiv, under heavy guard.

“We generally support mediation by anyone,” Zelensky said in response to a question about Israel’s potential role, posed by a reporter for Haaretz.
