NEW YORK United States of America getting crazier, YouTube is officially blocking Russian-affiliated media globally. This extreme policy has been announced by YouTube via Twitter social media recently.

“Today, we started blocking YouTube channels RT and Sputnik across Europe. Since Russia started its invasion of Ukraine, we have focused on removing infringing content,” YouTube tweeted.

In this move, YouTube says it will enforce certain existing policies in Ukraine that focus on existing policies from its Community Guidelines.

“Which denies, minimizes or downplays well-documented incidents of violence. We are now removing content about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that violates policy,” YouTube added.

YouTube seems to want to stop the propaganda made by Russia, presenting the correct information, which is happening in the Ukrainian state.

Like the recent bombings of a maternity and children’s hospital in the port city of Mariupol, which the Russian media responded quickly and linked to conspiracy theories.

Including mentioning that the victims depicted in the photos and videos are actors or people who are playing a role in the injuries they have suffered.

Russia also issued a false claim that the hospital itself was a legitimate target because it had been emptied of patients and staff by a battalion of Ukrainian fighters.

YouTube themselves say they have removed more than 1,000 channels and more than 15,000 videos for violating policies, which include hate speech, hoaxes, vulgar content and more.
