Xiaomi recently held an event in China, where they announced the Redmi K50 Gaming – the first member of the Redmi K50 series which is expected to be a direct successor to the K40 Gaming introduced last year.
Now! It has been confirmed that Xiaomi will not bring the device to Indonesia. However, of course, not a few people are curious about the specifications of Remi K50 Gaming. This smartphone is powered by the latest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Not only that, this smartphone also has an attraction in the charging sector. Redmi K50 Gaming has been equipped with 120W “super fast” charging. It is also the first smartphone in Xiaomi’s partnership with Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One (F1) Team and comes as a special edition which is being sold in limited quantities.
The special edition Redmi K50 Gaming has a race team badge and colors to match the Mercedes AMG Petronas. Like K40 Gaming, Xiaomi also still inserts a pair of physical game triggers on the right side. In addition, this smartphone is also equipped with Xiaomi’s CyberEngine x-axis haptics motor and dual speakers from JBL.
No less interesting, this smartphone has a metal frame, while the back is made of glass. Xiaomi has also developed an all-new dual vapor chamber (VC) cooling system to keep the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and other components under control.
Starting with a copper radiator placed just above the chipset, Xiaomi also uses a double graphite sheet, stainless steel and mesh material. Redmi K50 Gaming comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display and has FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 480Hz touch sampling rate.
The display panel produces 10bit color and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. There’s a 20MP Sony IMX 596 camera on the front, while on the back houses a 64MP Sony IMX 686 main camera side by side with an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP telemacro.
It was mentioned above that Xiaomi provided the Redmi K50 Gaming with 120W “super fast” charging. Well, the battery capacity itself is 4,700 mAh. It is claimed by Xiaomi that the battery of this smartphone can be fully charged in just 17 minutes.
The software side is covered by MIUI 13 based on Android 12. The smartphone is also equipped with WiFi 6E and NFC connectivity. Xiaomi Redmi K50 Gaming comes in a variety of color choices, namely Dream Blue, Silver and Black and Mercedes AMG F1 Edition.
The most basic K50 Gaming has 8 GB of RAM with LPDDR5 technology and 128 GB of internal storage with UFS 3.1 technology. This variant is sold at a price of CNY 3,299 (Rp 7.5 million). There is also a 12 GB/128 GB version which is priced at CNY 3,599 (Rp 8.2 million)
Meanwhile, the highest model, which is 12 GB/256 GB, is priced at CNY 3,899 (Rp 8.8 million). The limited edition Mercedes AMG F1 model also comes with a memory configuration of 12 GB/256 GB, and for this model is marketed by Xiaomi at a price of CNY 4,199 (Rp 9.5 million).
