Tottenham Hotspur’s face was different in just four days. After winning from number one Manchester City, they actually lost to the relegation zone team, Burnley.
Tottenham fell 0-1 when they traveled to Turf Moor in the Premier League match, Thursday (24/2/2022) early morning WIB. The Lilywhites were defeated by a single goal from Ben Mee in the 71st minute.
Tottenham’s defeat is clearly somewhat surprising. The reason, they came into this match with a slick capital.
Spurs just beat the leaders Manchester City 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium, (20/2). They stopped The Citizens’ unbeaten record in the last 15 matches.
Appearing mighty against the leader of the standings, Tottenham actually struggled to face Burnley who were stumbling in the relegation zone. The Clarets challenged Tottenham in 19th place.
Now thanks to a win over Antonio Conte’s men, they have moved up one place to 18th. Burnley have 20 points, two behind Newcastle United, who are just above the relegation zone.
Tottenham’s face is completely different in just three days. When facing Man City they appear so effective. Tottenham, who only recorded 25 percent possession of the ball, could make five shoot on target from six experiments with three fruitful goals.
It did not appear again with the team from North London looking difficult to face Burnley who played more waiting. Tottenham, who controlled the game with 66 percent possession, could only make two shots on goal. In fact, they took a total of 12 trials.
Conte is now faced with homework to fix Tottenham’s inconsistent form. They are currently stuck in 8th position with 39 points, seven points behind Manchester United in fourth position.
