White Lotus Star Fred Hechinger to Play Chameleon in Kraven the Hunter

Looks like another iconic character from Marvel will appear in the movie Kraven the Hunter which will come. Deadline just reported that star The White LotusFred Hechinger has joined the project as Chameleon, the brother of Kraven who will be played by Aaron Taylor Johnson.

The character of Chameleon was first introduced to the Marvel universe in the first issue The Amazing Spider-Man in 1963. This character is known to comic book fans as a master of disguise, able to trick the heroes of the Marvel Universe into pretending to be someone else, much like the Skrulls. Chameleon has previously appeared on the small screen in a number of animated series, including the classic 90s series, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, and The Spectacular Spider-Manin which he is voiced by Steve Blum.

Fred Hechinger himself recently appeared on Hulu’s series, Pam and Tommy and he is quite busy in 2021 with roles in films Fear Street from Netflix as well as The White Lotus. The actor is currently involved in the production of The Pale Blue Eye directed by filmmaker Scott Cooper, which also stars Christian Bale. He will next appear in Butchers Crossing along with Nicolas Cage directed by Gabe Polsky.

Kraven the Hunter will be directed by JC Chandor, with a screenplay written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach will produce the film.

Character Kraven the Hunter is a villain who often appears in Spider-Man comics. Real name Sergei Kravinoff, he is a Russian aristocrat who is obsessed with dangerous games. He then gains superpowers after taking a potion from a Voodoo priest named Calypso. This character first appeared in comics Amazing Spider-Man #15 published in 1964.

Although Kraven’s story was originally attached to Spider-Man, Sony will give the figure the same treatment as Venom and Morbius. It means that the film Kraven the Hunter will present an origin story that will depict the famous Marvel character as a kind of anti-hero, which has the potential to cross over with other Marvel properties that are still controlled by Sony Pictures.
