Sony Pictures has just unveiled a new poster of Venom: Let There Be Carnage which pays homage to the comic book material that inspired the characters and the film. This poster is presented using simple colors and shadows on a white background. Featuring Venom (Tom Hardy) battling Carnage (Woody Harrelson), the new poster reminds us that the two symbiotes will face each other in a big battle next month, which is on October 1st.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will show the return Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, who is one of Marvel’s most complex characters. Meanwhile, Michelle Williams will also return as Anne Weying. Woody Harrison as maniacal serial killer Cletus Kasady/Carnage, and Naomie Harris as Frances Barrison/Shriek. The film will also feature Reid Scott as Dan Lewis, Stephen Graham as Mulligan, and Peggy Lu as Mrs. Chen.

This sequel will take place more than a year after the events Venom, with journalist Eddie Brock struggling to adjust to his new life as master of the alien symbiote Venom. This time he will be challenged by serial killer Cletus Kasady, who also hosted the symbiote Carnage and escaped from prison after a failed execution. If Eddie Brock uses Venom’s help to become a vigilante then Kasady just wants to cause chaos and carnage.

Star Lord of the Rings, Andy Serkis direct Venom: Let There Be Carnagemarking his first attempt at directing a comic book-based film after appearing in two Marvel Studios films. Venom 2 will be the third feature film that will be handled by Serkis as director after Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle.

After Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Tom Hardy is rumored to be back in the film Morbius, where he will join Michael Keaton who will reprise his role as the Vulture who previously appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And while there’s no official confirmation yet, Keaton’s appearance in Morbius may indicate the progress of a future partnership between Sony and Disney’s MCU.
