Sony Pictures has finally released the first official trailer for the live-action film adaptation of Uncharted, which is one of the popular and acclaimed adventure video game series. This film has been in development for many years and the project began to be seriously prepared since 2017, and finally actually materialized in the last 2 years.
Uncharted starring Tom Holland as Nathan Drake with Mark Wahlberg playing his mentor, Victor “Sully” Sullivan. Director Venom and ZombielandRuben Fleischer directs the film, which will be released on February 18, 2022, based on a script written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight).
The trailer itself looks like a fusion of the stories of two iconic franchises, namely Indiana Jones and James Bond. Shows various exciting actions to find treasure but is presented with various exciting espionage-style actions that are quite tense.
In addition to Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, the film also stars Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) as Braddock, Sophia Ali (Grey’s Anatomy) as Chloe Frazer, and Antonio Banderas. The film will reportedly be a prequel to the video game series, with the story taking inspiration from the 4th game.

First released in 2007 with the first series entitled Uncharted: Drake’s Fortunefollowed by Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deceptionand its prequel entitled Uncharted: Golden Abyss. The fourth series of this third-person shooter game was released on May 10, 2016 with the title Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and will come too Uncharted: The Lost Legacy intended for the PlayStation 4 console.
This film is just the first of many Sony games that have been turned into live-action film and series projects.
