Back Yi Jin (Nam Joo Hyuk) apparently had to swallow his own saliva when he finally showed signs of falling in love with Na Hee Do (Kim Tae Ri). Even though before that he was very sure that “High school kids fall in love with high school kids”. But the audience doesn’t complain about this!
The development of Na Hee Do and Back Yi Jin’s relationship in episode 4 of Twenty-Five Twenty-One gave hope for their sweet relationship in 1998. Slowly these two lovebirds showed concern for each other and realized that each other’s presence was very valuable to them.
Back Yi Jin, who previously had slumped because of his family’s condition, found new hope after meeting Na Hee Do. He was also grateful for that one. On the other hand, Na Hee Do also feels that Back Yi Jin is someone he can’t pass up and promises that every time they meet, Back Yi Jin should at least be happy.
In the midst of Back Yi Jin’s failure to get a job at a company, Na Hee Do is there to cheer him up and prank him. Although their relationship was strained due to an argument over Ko Yu Rim, this couple was able to restore the rhythm of comfort to each other well. Ah, the sweetness of first love!
Not only are Na Hee Do and Back Yi Jin happy, Ko Yu Rim (Bona) and Moon Ji Woong (Choi Hyun Wook) are also blooming. It felt like they had a crush on each other but were trying not to be too explosive. The scene of raining with umbrellas is one of the sweet scenes for the two of them in this episode.
Episode 4 also takes us deeper into the families of Ko Yu Rim, Na Hee Do, and Back Yi Jin. Also the friendship relations of Tae Yang’s high school children (including Seung Wan) which began to be established after the scene of fish scattered at Seung Wan’s house. In the future, Kim Min Chae (Choi Myung Bin) is curious about his mother’s past. With his grandmother (Seo Jae Hee) he sees old photos of Na Hee Do and his high school friends.
The scene clearly makes me wonder. If Kim Min Chae doesn’t know who is Back Yi Jin in the photo, then in the future how will Na Hee Do and Back Yi Jin be related? Who is Kim Min Chae’s father? What happens to Tae Yang’s high school friendship after all these years have passed?
Twenty-Five Twenty-One slowly begins to uncover the secrets hidden from the initial episode. This unhurried tempo makes this drama directed by Jung Ji Hyun still fun to follow. The chemistry of Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo Hyuk is too sweet to ignore, the cuteness presented by Choi Hyun Wook and Lee Joo Myoung is also not something that can be underestimated. Even the drama presented by Ko Yu Rim (although sometimes it annoys me too) has so far been tolerable.
The ending of episode 4 made the audience even more impatient to wait for the weekend and watch the continuation of the story. Twenty-Five Twenty-One airs on Netflix every Saturday and Sunday night. Listen to reviews of this drama on the Drama Podcast! detik.com:
