The election of Donald Trump as President of the United States seems to have an impact on many things, one of which is on his wife, Melania Trump. Not long ago, Sophie Theallet’s open letter circulated asking designers not tostyling Melania Tump, Tommy Hilfiger actually have the opposite thought.
“I think Melania is a very beautiful woman and I think any designer would be proud if Melania could wear her collection. Ivanka is both beautiful and smart. I hope people don’t get too ‘political’ about this.” explained Tommy to wwd.com.
Tommy Hilfiger was never afraid to voice his voice, even though it sounded controversial. Not too long ago, Tommy also commented on Gigi Hadid for wearing poncho in showbecause of Gigi’s body size. It made sense that Tommy would be the first to speak up about Melania, but unfortunately for Sophie, things didn’t go as smoothly as she had hoped.
