OPPO recently made a breakthrough by launching its newest premium flagship smartphone, the OPPO Find X5 series. There were two models launched, OPPO Find X5 powered by Snapdragon 888 and OPPO Find X5 Pro powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

So, OPPO decided to use ceramic material instead of glass for the back panel of the OPPO Find X5 Pro. This material has many advantages over glass, such as twice as strong, so it is basically anti-drop, and also has a texture that reduces fingerprints, so it doesn’t get dirty easily.
The back panel design is refined into a tee using an in-house technique to print the ceramic into an organically curved back with a pebble-like smoothness. But as we know that ceramic is one of the hardest materials.
It proved almost impossible to print it using conventional methods. Because of this, the OPPO engineers involved in the development of the Find X5 Pro discovered the process from scratch to achieve an elegant-looking design and finish.
For that matter, OPPO claims to have invested millions of dollars to develop a special automated tool that uses more than 2,000 individual control points to make the ceramic back panel of the OPPO Find X5 Pro curved and unique, the camera module so seamless and iconic.
In order to remove machine marks on the back panel, OPPO engineers carefully polished the ceramic edges in several stages, using a four-axis polishing machine and micron-grade diamond powder. This process takes five full days to produce a ceramic cover that meets OPPO standards.
