VIVA – Shocking news came from the continuation of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) 2022. The Satria Muda Pertamina duel against Evos Thunder Bogor, which was originally scheduled for Saturday 29 January 2022 at C’Tra Arena Bandung, had to be postponed.
The reason is, there is one Satria Muda player who is indicated to be positive for COVID-19 after a series of tests were carried out on Friday, January 28, 2022. He is SM rookie, Arief Febri.
“The Satria Muda match against Evos had to be postponed because all SM players had contact with Arief during training and needed further assessment,” said IBL President Director, Junas Miradiarsyah, quoted by the IBL official website.
Arief actually did a PCR test before leaving for Bandung and the results were negative. Similar results were obtained when he made his second test before entering the bubble in Bandung.
“After practicing with the Satria Muda team in Bandung, Arif complained of feeling feverish. The PCR test was again carried out. Arief did the PCR test again and the results of the last PCR test showed he was positive,” said Junas.
“The postponement of this match is in accordance with our principle from the start, namely prioritizing the health protocol which is the standard for the implementation of the IBL Tokopedia 2022,” he added.
According to the Satria Muda team report, all Satria Muda Pertamina team personnel who are in quarantine have also received an antigen swab on Friday, January 28, 2022 night. Except for Arief, all team personnel showed non-reactive results.
