The head of PP Perbasi, Danny Kosasih, who represented Indonesia was called to the podium and announced that the hosts had chosen to enter Group A.
There is a reason why Perbasi chose to be in Group A, even though there was the defending champion Australia. Danny Kosasih said his goal is to see the opponent’s game in the upcoming 2023 World Cup qualification.
“We chose Group A because Jordan and Saudi Arabia will meet us in the second window of the 2023 Basketball World Cup. So I think we can read their game. From there we can make special preparations,” Danny said in a virtual press conference. .
Despite meeting tough opponents in the group stage, Danny is optimistic that Indonesia can achieve good results in the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup. Realization of the target to enter the top eight is not impossible for Indonesia, in order to be able to perform in the 2023 Basketball World Cup.
