The reason PBSI still needs Ahsan / Hendra at the 2022 National Training

VIVA – PP PBSI summoned 88 athletes to take part in the national training (pelatnas) for badminton in 2022. There were old athletes and added new athletes who passed the selection route.

The announcement of the 88 athletes was carried out by PBSI virtually on Friday, January 28, 2020. The list of 88 athletes was ratified through SK number SKEP/007/1.3/2022 dated January 24, 2022.

The decree was signed by the General Chairperson of PP PBSI Agung Firman Sampurna and the Secretary General Moh. Fadil Imran.

From the list of 88 athletes, veteran men’s doubles, Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan are still the choices. The duo, nicknamed Daddies, are the most senior players because they are over 30 years old.

The Head of the Development and Achievement Division of PP PBSI, Rionny Mainaky, revealed the reason for the selection of Ahsan/Hendra in the 2022 national training.

Rionny said that the figure of Ahsan / Hendra is still needed in the national training as a role model for younger players.
