VIVA – Deputy Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), Cahyadi Wanda, promised the process of re-paving the Mandalika Circuit (Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit) could be completed today, Tuesday 8 March 2022. No later than 10 March 2022.
The asphalt of the Mandalika Circuit was in the spotlight because it was considered to be still not sticky at the MotoGP pre-season test session, last February. Many racers also complained about the condition of the asphalt.
MGPA as a promoter also moved quickly to correct these deficiencies. They re-paved so that the track was as expected.
In total, about 1.6 kilometers were re-paved. Work started on last Saturday, March 5, 2022. Starting from Turn 16.5 or between Turn 16 to Turn 17.
Cahyadi Wanda revealed, the work process has reached the final stage and is even claimed to be completed today, March 8, 2022. However, all of that still depends on weather conditions.
