Amblin Entertainment finally announced that the production process of their horror-thriller film entitled The Last Voyage of the Demeter finally completed, after more than three months undergoing the process of making and shooting.
This project is directed by Andre Ovredal (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark) based on a screenplay written by Zak Olkewicz, Bragi Schut, and Stefan Ruzowitzky. Along with the announcement, the studio has also revealed a first look photo of the film, which features the rudder of the ship which has the letters Demeter engraved on it.

Based on a harrowing chapter called “The Captain’s Log,” from Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula, The Last Voyage of the Demeter will be helmed by David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad) as Wojchek, Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones) as the ship’s captain, Aisling. Franciosi (The Nightingale) as Anna and Javier Botet (IT, The Conjuring 2) as Dracula. Joining them are Corey Hawkins (In the Heights), Jon Jon Briones (Ratched), Stefan Kapicic (Deadpool), Nikolai Nikolaeff (Daredevil), Woody Norman (The War of the Worlds), Martin Furulund (Monster), and Chris Walley. (The Young Offenders).
The Last Voyage of the Demeter will take place in the middle of the story of the classic novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, with a focus on the ship Demeter, which transports fifty mysterious chests, one of which is Dracula’s coffin from Carpathia, Transylvania to London. Strange events then happened to the crew of the ship. They must try to survive the voyage at sea while being stalked every night by a merciless mysterious figure who is also aboard the ship. And when Demeter finally arrived in English port, the ship was charred and derelict.
André Ovredal himself is a filmmaker best known for his debut film, Trollhunters and supernatural horror films of 2016, The Autopsy of Jane Doe. His most recent work is the live-action film adaptation of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark produced by Guillermo del Toro and fantasy adventure film Mortal starring Nat Wolff.
The Last Voyage of the Demeter It is currently scheduled to hit theaters on January 27, 2023.
