The Korean drama The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won is in the middle of controversy because of the death of a horse. They are considered to be torturing horses while taking dangerous pictures without CGI assistance.

Previously, KBS1, as a TV station broadcasting dramas, decided to stop broadcasting the new episode of The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won for 2 weeks. Now, they have decided not to air a new episode in the third week.

Reported by a number of South Korean media, The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won even stopped filming for a while. As of now, it is still uncertain when filming will resume as a thorough inspection is being carried out on the methods and regulations in drama production.

The actors and production staff have not yet been notified when filming will resume.

The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won describes the events that led to the fall of the Goryeo Dynasty and the founding of the Joseon Dynasty. King Taejong, whose birth name was Lee Bang Won, helped his father overthrow the Goryeo Dynasty and establish the Joseon Dynasty.

The controversy involving the Korean drama The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won stems from the Korean Animal Welfare Association (KAWA) investigating the drama. Based on the behind-the-scenes video that was released, there is a scene where an actor is said to have been attacked and fell from a horse.

In the behind-the-scenes video that was released, the horse being ridden also seemed to fall pretty hard. It even looks like the crew tripped on purpose for the sake of the scene in question.

KBS1 party some time ago has expressed an apology. They also reported that the horse in the scene died a week after filming.

This has made the Korean drama The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won, come under fire from the public.
