VIVA – Gregoria Mariska Tunjung successfully carried out her mission as captain of the Indonesian women’s badminton team. He performed well and brought the Garuda Muda Squad to a 1-0 lead over South Korea in the final of the 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships.
In the match which took place at the Setia City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia, Sunday morning, February 20, Gregoria took full control of the match. He is superior to everything. He won the opening match 21-9 and 21-10 in 26 minutes over Sim Yu Jin.
“I’m happy to be able to bring Indonesia ahead. Hopefully my victory will make my friends more enthusiastic and fight for points,” said Gregoria in a written statement from PBSI.
“Thank God I played better today than when I met Korea in the last group stage. Last time it was much more tense than now. Because I wasn’t too tense, I was able to relax more and stay with the target and aim to win. So I can play loose, ” he added.
According to Gregoria, today’s opponent looks heavy. Physical and fitness like less prime. “It could be because yesterday’s opponent was still playing in the semifinals. Meanwhile, I seem to have benefited because there was one day of rest,” said Gregoria.
During the morning briefing before the match, Gregoria was determined and eager to bring the Indonesian team to victory. “Let’s look compact and full of enthusiasm to win the title,” said Gregoria.
In the previous group stage, Gregoria also managed to beat Sim Yu Jin. At that time, Gregoria won 21-6, 21-18.
