VIVA – DNA Bima Perkasa Jogja chose Kartika Siti Aminah as coach. He replaced the coach from the United States, Dean Murray, who was fired after the first series of the Indonesia Basketball League (IBL) 2022 was held.
Kartika’s election became a separate note at the IBL event. She became the first female coach to coach the most prestigious basketball competition team in Indonesia.
After a series of bad results that were inscribed by Bima Perkasa in the first series of the 2022 IBL season, Kartika’s cold hands also seemed to be paying off.
In the match against RANS PIK, they managed to win. Bima Perkasa won the match 57-53.
Bima Perkasa foreign player, Jordan Jacks admitted that his team’s victory could not be separated from the program and training carried out by Kartika. Jordan said he and the rest of the team were happy and suited Kartika’s coaching style.
“I enjoyed playing for Coach Kartika. He came with open arms with a positive mindset and believed in all the players. He never doubted us. But he also gave us a challenge to compete openly,” said Jordan.
Jordan said that Kartika’s presence in the team restored the confidence of the Bima Perkasa children who had dropped due to a bad series in the first series of the 2022 IBL season.
