A new anime film entitled Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru) from the studio that produces the popular anime series and films, Demon Slayer has been announced and has even released a teaser.
Based on a visual novel developed by Japanese game company Type-Moon and released in April 2012, the story is set in the late Shōwa era in the late 1980s in a town called Misaki. The main protagonist is a high school student named Soujuurou Shizuki who recently moved from the countryside and is new to the modern city lifestyle. Her normal life is about to change forever when Soujuurou meets two modern wizards, Aoko Aozaki and Alice Kuonji, who live alone and in secrecy in a mansion on a hill.
The newly released teaser doesn’t show much of the plot of the film but is sufficient to depict the two main characters, Aoko Aozaki and Alice Kuonji. They are shown standing in a flower field at night while playing a peaceful piano melody.
This isn’t the first time the ufotable studio has been in charge of animation and production of a Type-Moon game, another notable title being The Garden of Sinners (Kara no Kyoukai). To date, film adaptation Witch on the Holy Night does not yet have a definite release date or release date.
And to make it easier for fans to follow the progress of this film project, they launched an account Twitter official for the film as well as an official website to help with its marketing campaign.
