Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is the second feature film to be released in 2021 from the four MCU franchise films slated for release this year (the other two are Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home -ed). Before it can be seen starting tomorrow in cinemas in the country, first read about the synopsis of the film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings here.

The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, will be the first Marvel film to feature an Asian super hero as the main character. You could say that the breath of the 25th MCU film is the same as what the MCU has produced in Black Panther. Shang-Chi, played by Liu, is the first Asian superhero in the MCU. Its presence as a representation of Asia is similar to that of Black Panther who is present as a representation of Africa. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings tells the story of a young hero’s journey of self-discovery, which is revealed in a place he has never seen before.

“Shang-Chi’s main problem in his life is rooted in not knowing who he really is. He had to learn how to own every part of him. If he doesn’t allow himself to see it all—good, bad, light and dark—and to have it all, he won’t be able to reach his full potential,” said director Cretton.

According to the Marvel website, the synopsis for the film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings tells the story of Shang-Chi who is drawn into the mysterious network of the Ten Rings organization. Previously, having lived life in America, leaving his homeland far away and trying to forget his old life, Shang-Chi couldn’t help but return to his hometown to face a past he thought had been abandoned, when the ghosts of his past managed to find traces of his whereabouts.

Shang-Chi himself is the eldest son of Wenwu, a head of the Ten Rings crime organization which has great power. Since childhood, Shang-Chi thought of his father as a good and great figure. Since childhood, Wenwu worked hard to train Shang-Chi in martial arts so that one day he could become a great fighter and eventually become his successor. But on the other hand, the father also hoped that his son would grow up to be a bad person. Finally, Shang-Chi rebelled and turned against his father’s wishes. What about the fate of Shang-Chi who is drawn into the world of the Ten Rings? Will Shang-Chi be able to face her past to find her true destiny?

The film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy, and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu , and Ronny Cheng. David Callaham, Destin Daniel Cretton, and Andrew Lanham wrote the screenplay for the film. Produced by Kevin Feige and Jonathan Schwartz, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Charles Newirth as executive producers.

Shang-Chi’s journey is narrated with stunning visuals, signature Marvel Cinematic Universe spectacles, and stunning martial arts action shows.
