Towards the end of the year, watching a Korean film titled Happy New Year can be an option. Happy New Year Synopsis:
Happy New Year is a story about the people who work at Hotel Emros around the new year and the guests who stay there.
The hotel manager (Han Ji Min) does a good job, but she is not very confident in her personal life. She has had a crush on her boyfriend for 15 years, but she can’t tell him how he feels yet.
The hotel’s CEO (Lee Dong Wook) is a young man who is obsessed with even numbers. The hotel staff includes a young woman (SNSD’s YoonA), a new employee (Won Jin Ah), who started working as a chambermaid and put aside her dream of becoming a musical actress, and a female doorman.
The guests include a young man (Kang Ha Neul), who comes to the hotel to get a job. For 5 years, he prepared for the exam to become a public official, but failed the exam. Even her lover had left her.
A singer-songwriter/radio DJ (Seo Kang Joon) is quite popular now, but he goes through hard times as an unpopular singer-songwriter. A manager (Lee Kwang Soo) works for a popular artist. He and the artist went through tough times, but his client finally found success.
Their contract is about to expire. A large management company is trying to contract a client, but the manager can do nothing about it. A radio DJ (Kim Young Kwang) and a jazz pianist (Go Sung Hee) fall in love at first sight.
They are now preparing for their wedding, but they face an unexpected situation. A plastic surgeon (Lee Jin Wook) sits in the hotel lounge every Saturday, waiting for his fated love.
A businessman (Lee Hye Young), who lives overseas, returns to South Korea to attend her daughter’s wedding. At the hotel, he meets his first love from 40 years ago. He works as a hotel doorman.
A fortune teller (Lee Kyu Hyung) often visits the hotel to meet his customers. A high school swimmer (Jo Joon Young) and a high school student figure skater (Won Ji An) begin to have feelings for each other.
