SYFY and USA Network have just revealed the latest promo material for the series Chucky adapted from the film series Child’s Play. They released a new sneak peek clip to promote the horror series currently slated to premiere on October 12, 2021.

The video shows Zackary Arthur’s character Jake as he tries to dissect a frog in his science class but is “stuck” by his fear of blood. And then suddenly the doll he was carrying then helped him secretly.

Serial Chucky will be set in a beautiful small American town that finds its way into chaos when a series of gruesome murders sweeps in and threatens to expose the hypocrisy and secrets of the city. It all started when the quirky Chucky doll appeared at a secondhand shop. At the same time, the demon puppet must deal with the arrival of enemies and allies from his past who threaten to uncover the truth behind the murders.

Series creator and executive producer Don Mancini also revealed new details about the main characters and the reasons why they decided to create the series.

“The main character of the series is a 14-year-old gay boy who is bullied and disoriented after the recent death of his mother,” said Mancini. “He is a young artist who makes sculptures using parts from various used dolls. He found Chucky at a secondhand shop and then bought it.” He continued, “One of the things I want to do is take him [franchise] goes back to Child’s Play roots and makes the main protagonist a teenager.”

Cast line Chucky will consist of some of the old faces of this fanchise as well as a number of newcomers. Alex Vincent returns as Andy, the child abused by the killer doll in the first Child’s Play film, and Christine Elise will also reprise her role as Andy’s adopted brother, Kyle. Besides that, Brad Dourif will reprise the voice of Chucky, while his daughter, Fiona Dourif, will return as Nica Pierce. Jennifer Tilly will also return as Tiffany Valentine, Chucky’s “wife.” Other cast members of this series are Zackary Arthur, Lexa Doig, Devon SawaBarbara Alyn Woods, Teo Brione, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Björgvin Arnarson.
