VIVA – The passing of NBA and LA Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna are remembered by erecting a statue of the two of them at the site of the tragic accident that took their lives.
A bronze statue was created by a sculptor named Dan Medina in memory of Bryant and Gianna. The statue is placed in the hilly area of Calabasas, Los Angeles, which is where the helicopter crash occurred.
The statue weighing 72.5 kilograms features Bryant wearing his flagship costume, the LA Lakers, complete with the number 24 jersey, which is his second number after wearing number 8.
Bryant stood with a smile looking at Gianna who was holding a basketball. He also put his left arm on the shoulder of the princess who smiled looking at her father.
The sculptor, Dan Medina, captioned it: “Heroes come and go, but legends last forever.”
Not to forget, at the bottom of the monument, Medina engraved the names of seven other victims, namely John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Christina Mauser, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, and the pilot Ara Zobayan.
