VIVA – The Indonesian men’s badminton team had to overcome difficult obstacles when they met South Korea in the second match of the preliminary round of Group A Badminton Asia Team Championships 2022. This match is very important, therefore Indonesia is ready to field its best strength.
The match between Indonesia and South Korea is ready to be presented at the Setia City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia, Thursday morning 17 February. This battle is predicted to be fierce because each team wants to win so that the road to the semifinals is more spacious.
Men’s doubles coach Aryono Miranat said, the fight against South Korea will determine the fate of the Indonesian team’s journey in the championship which will be participated by eight countries. To be able to immediately secure a ticket to the semifinals, like it or not, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo et al had to win.
“Tomorrow’s match against Korea is very important. The odds are balanced, 50-50. If we can win, the ticket to the semifinals seems to be getting closer. But it’s also not easy and requires a lot of hard work,” said Aryono in a written statement from PBSI, Wednesday, February 16. 2022.
The fight is predictably not easy. Understandably, in the opening match, Tuesday, February 15, South Korea won 5-0 over India. Meanwhile, Indonesia overcame Hong Kong 4-1.
In preparation, the Young Garuda Squad was very serious about preparing themselves. On Wednesday morning 16 February the players practiced at the Setia Badminton Hall, Selangor. This two-hour training was deliberately meant to face the Ginseng Country team.
“We’ve done an evaluation, especially for doubles players. Yesterday there was something lacking, of course we will improve. What is certain is that we will perform with the best team,” said Aryono.
