Indonesia is proud. The film industry made a glorious history on the world stage, after the Viu Original Star Stealer won four National Winner awards at the 2021 Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) which was just announced in Singapore.
AACA is an appreciation event for creative industry people in television and film in the Asia Pacific region. This competition was participated by film and television industry players from New Zealand, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Australia.
Viu Original Star Stealer tells the story of a girl who is the daughter of a bankrupt mall owner. She was forced to work as a waitress at a bubble tea cafe and gather workers at the mall with various talents, to form a secret group. Their mission is to make money by stealing personal belongings from high-profile celebrities who perform at the mall. The stolen goods were sold on social media platforms at high prices.
The original concept of Star Stealer was created by two talented young people, Aaron Timothy Suharto and Audry Dayes Wangko who have beaten more than 250 other stories in the Viu Pitching Forum. The Viu Pitching Forum program is an annual initiative by Viu to develop the industry, with the mission of promoting new Indonesian talent and providing Viu a global platform to showcase their inspiring work.
Star Stealer stars young Indonesian stars, namely Shafira Haddad, Roy Sungkono, Clairine Clay, Shenina Cinnamon, Claudy Putri and parkour athletes God’s Reck. The series is directed by Andibachhtiar Yusuf.

These four victories will compete to represent Indonesia in the Grand Final at the international level, competing with the best works from Asia Pacific in December 2021. Last year, Viu Original Pretty Little Liars successfully won the Best Adaptation of an Existing Format award at the Grand Final of the Asian Academy. Creative Awards (AACA) 2020
